Motta di Livenza crossed by the river Livenza dates back to pre-Roman times as confirmed by several archaeological findings, the first inhabitants are called Paleoveneti.

At the center of the city is THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY OF MIRACLES is one of the largest religious Veneto, which arrive annually thousands of religious to pray to Our Lady of Miracles, published March 9, 1510 to farmer Giovanni Cigagna.

The town of Motta Livenza is twinned with the French town of L’Isle – Jourdain and the Croatian town of Cres; also it has a relationship with several towns in Hungary, Austria, Germany and Slovakia.
